A CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) is an unbiased voice that speaks
up for the best interest of a child who has entered into the court system
because of abuse and or neglect.

This community volunteer serves an important role in the life of a child in
the legal system. The CASA takes the time to learn and understand what
each child needs and their recommendations are a critical part of the judge’s
decision-making process.

A CASA volunteer is an essential presence that reminds everyone involved,
that at the heart of each case are children who deserve a safe and loving
place to call home. Research suggests that children who have been assigned
CASA volunteers tend to spend less time in court and less time within the
foster care system than those who do not have CASA representation.

CASA of Clinton County was established by Judge Bradley Mohler of the
Clinton Circuit Court in 2016 when he saw the increasing need for
community volunteers to assist with the increase of Child In Need of
Services (CHINS) cases in his court.

CASA of Clinton County is certified by the Indiana State Office of GAL/CASA,
and is a member of the National Court Appointed Special Advocates
Association.
